Heritage Grocers Group, the largest Hispanic and ethnic food retailer in the U.S., has launched Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations at all four of its banners. Cardenas Markets, Los Altos Ranch Market, Tony’s Fresh Market and El Rancho Supermercado began their celebrations today, Sept. 15, and will continue through Oct. 15.
HGG’s monthlong initiative routes its sweepstakes through each banner’s rewards app, turning the cultural observance into an engagement and enrollment driver alongside its community events, cultural storytelling and culinary programming.
A deeper celebration of heritage
“At Heritage Grocers Group, celebrating Hispanic heritage is part of who we are year-round. It is reflected in our people, our culture and the communities we proudly serve every day,” said Adam Salgado, chief experience officer at Heritage Grocers Group.
“Hispanic Heritage Month gives us an opportunity to deepen that celebration by highlighting the traditions, stories and contributions that have shaped generations and continue to enrich our communities.”
Targeted banner celebrations
At Cardenas Markets and Los Altos Ranch Market, customers can enter a monthlong sweepstakes through the banners’ rewards apps for a chance to win artisan mercado tote bags filled with Latin American products, colorful scarves and $100 gift cards, while the banners spotlight recipes, notable Hispanic figures and cultural stories throughout the month.
At Tony’s Fresh Market, customers can enter daily through the Tony’s Rewards App for prizes including gift cards, kitchen essentials, electronics and home goods, and participate in special in-store events, including Tony’s Taqueria celebrations featuring food, live entertainment and family-friendly activities.
El Rancho Supermercado’s festivities feature weekly sweepstakes prizes, mariachi performances, family-friendly Lotería events and a free piñata-making workshop, with rewards-app entries offering chances to win gift cards and curated market bags.
Products, recipes, stories
Throughout the month, the Ontario, California-based company’s banners will feature authentic flavors, traditional products, recipes and cultural stories reflecting the diversity of Hispanic heritage throughout Latin America.
HGG operates 116 stores in California, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, Kansas and Illinois: 58 under the Cardenas Markets banner, 29 under El Rancho Supermercado, 22 under Tony’s Fresh Market and seven under Los Altos Ranch Market.
