Wakefern Food Corp. is rolling out redesigned packaging for its Wholesome Pantry Organic and Wholesome Pantry Free-From lines, the Keasbey, New Jersey-based cooperative announced July 21.
The updated packaging features a modernized logo, color cues that distinguish organic items from free-from items and design elements intended to make key product attributes easier to identify on shelf. The products are sold at ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace, The Fresh Grocer, Dearborn Market, Gourmet Garage, Fairway Market and Morton Williams banner stores.
The new packaging is appearing first on select items including frozen shrimp, onions, fresh packaged herbs and salsa, with additional products arriving through the summer in the produce, meat, dairy, frozen and grocery categories. Wakefern expects the full portfolio to have the new look by the end of 2026.
“Wholesome Pantry has always stood for products customers can feel good about buying – great quality, simple ingredients and strong everyday value,” said Chris Ruane, director of Own Brands at Wakefern. “This refreshed look makes it even easier for customers to find the products they want and recognize what the brand stands for.”
All Wholesome Pantry products are made without 233 ingredients, including artificial preservatives, colors, flavors and sweeteners. Wholesome Pantry Organic items meet those same standards and are made exclusively with certified organic ingredients.
Founded in 1946, Wakefern is the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the United States, with members operating hundreds of supermarkets in nine states.
