Hot bar items will decrease from $9.99 per pound to $8.99 per pound. New offerings include Korean barbecue chicken, cilantro lime rice, creamed corn with bacon and mashed sweet potatoes.

“Our customers are looking for meal solutions that deliver convenience, variety and value, especially as families settle back into busy school and activity schedules,” said Rebecca Lupfer, chief merchant at The Giant Company. “From comfort foods to globally inspired dishes and an assortment of sides to round out any meal, we’re providing even more fresh, flavorful options at a lower price and making mealtime easier for busy families.”

Hot bars are offered at 188 Giant and Martin’s stores and operate from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for lunch and 4-7 p.m. for dinner.

Selection varies by store and includes hand-breaded fried chicken available daily, mac and cheese, barbecue chicken, meatloaf, General Tso chicken, sesame orange chicken, pepper steak, vegetable fried rice, lasagna and penne pasta. Select stores also feature hot smoked items.

An October 2025 report from FMI – The Food Industry Association pointed to a shift in dining habits. Its Power of Foodservice at Retail 2025 study found 28 percent of consumers choosing deli-prepared foods in place of restaurant meals, more than double the 12 percent recorded in 2017, and 53 percent taking a hybrid approach that combines deli-prepared options with items from their own kitchens. FMI also reported retail foodservice dollar sales rose 1.6 percent to $52.1 billion over the previous 12 months.

Giant and Martin’s customers can also find grab-and-go options including soup bars, prepared entrees, sandwiches, salads and sushi, which vary by store.

Founded in 1923 and based in Carlisle, The Giant Company operates almost 200 stores across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, along with online grocery services, pharmacies and fuel stations. The company has more than 35,000 team members and is a company of Ahold Delhaize USA.
