Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is entering the cookie category with the launch of Ghirardelli Crispy Cookies, extending the nearly 175-year-old San Francisco Bay Area chocolate brand into a new center store aisle.
The line debuts with two varieties, each sold 10 cookies to a 6.3-ounce package: Classic Chocolate Chip Crispy Cookies, made with Ghirardelli chocolate chips as the first ingredient, and Double Chocolate Crispy Cookies, made with Ghirardelli dark chocolate chips and a blend of Ghirardelli cocoa powder and chocolate in the dough.
The cookies are available now at Ghirardelli.com and will roll out at Kroger beginning Oct. 11 and Walmart beginning Oct. 24. The line will expand to additional retailers nationwide beginning in January 2027.
“Cookies are one of those simple, familiar treats people reach for every day, and we saw an opportunity to make that experience distinctly Ghirardelli by bringing the quality and delicious chocolate taste consumers know and love to the cookie aisle,” said Bobby Oliver, VP and head of marketing at Ghirardelli Chocolate Company. “Entering the cookie category marks an exciting new chapter for Ghirardelli and an important step in how we continue to grow the brand.”
Founded in San Francisco in 1852, Ghirardelli is one of the few large-scale U.S. chocolate companies that controls its manufacturing from cocoa bean sourcing through finished product.
