Giant Food celebrated the grand reopening of its remodeled store at 8805 Centre Park Drive in Columbia, Maryland, on July 31, with a community event at 9 a.m.

The renovated store’s features include an expanded seafood department, a broader selection of international foods, a Ledo Pizza Corner Shop, a full-service sushi bar with an in-store chef and additional prepared food offerings.

The reopening continues a steady run of Giant remodels across the Washington, D.C. area this year, following recent grand reopenings in Baltimore; Oakton, Virginia; Vienna, Virginia; and Germantown, Maryland.

“I am very proud of our entire team at Store 300 because they are the glue that holds this store together,” said the store’s manager, Mark Davis. “Since 2003, our associates have become part of our customer’s everyday lives, from helping them find what they need to celebrating special life moments together.”

Customers at the reopening had the opportunity to sample Giant private brand products and items from partners including Boar’s Head and Celsius. They also received a free reusable bag at checkout.

Founded in 1936, Landover, Maryland-based Giant Food operates 163 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia, including 153 full-service pharmacies, with about 20,000 associates.
