Uber has added four more regional grocery brands to the Uber Eats marketplace, extending its grocery delivery footprint with Busch’s Fresh Food Market, Hays, Lowe’s Market and Piggly Wiggly.
Shoppers can order from participating stores through the Uber Eats, Uber and Postmates apps, with on-demand and scheduled delivery and real-time tracking. The additions continue a steady run of regional grocery signings for Uber Eats, which has added Stater Bros., Kowalski’s, Big Y, King Kullen, Citarella, Rouses and others over the past year.
“When it comes to grocery shopping, local preference matters,” said Hashim Amin, head of grocery and retail for North America at Uber. “These new partnerships help us bring more of those local favorites to Uber Eats while creating new opportunities for grocers to grow their business.”
The new partners
Busch’s Fresh Food Market is a family-owned grocer that has served Michigan for more than 50 years. The grocer emphasizes fresh produce, premium meat and seafood, chef-prepared foods, local partnerships and hospitality, Uber said.
Hays is a family-owned grocery retailer with more than a century of history serving communities across Arkansas and Missouri through its Hays Supermarkets and Food Smart banners.
Lowe’s Market, part of Pay and Save Inc., serves communities primarily in Texas with fresh produce, pantry staples, local favorites and a neighborhood-focused grocery experience through its family of banners.
Piggly Wiggly, described by Uber as America’s first true self-service grocery store, is bringing its North Carolina locations onto the platform.
Uber One members pay zero delivery fees on eligible grocery orders.
