Lidl US will open a new location in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, on Aug. 26.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony at the store, located at 573 Grand St., will take place at 7:40 a.m. Regular hours will be 8 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
The opening continues the discount grocer’s expansion in New York. The store will carry the retailer’s private label products, global imports and fresh local produce.
Shoppers who use the Lidl Plus loyalty app can earn points on purchases and access member offers and personalized coupons. The store’s promotional schedule includes Wednesday Weekly Deals; a Friday-through-Sunday weekend sale on a rotating set of items; and Monday non-food offerings such as kitchenware, home decor and fitness gear.
The Williamsburg location will feature Lidl’s in-store bakery, including its 49-cent butter croissants baked fresh daily, and the retailer’s Special Guest bakery program, which rotates four new baked goods each month. For this opening, the items will be a Toffee Pecan Cookie, Brookie, Blueberry Scone and Brownie Pop.
Part of Germany’s Schwarz Group, Lidl operates about 12,900 stores in 32 countries. Lidl US opened its Arlington, Virginia, headquarters in 2015 and its first U.S. stores in 2017, and now operates more than 200 stores in nine East Coast states.
