Flowers Foods Inc. is adding to its breakfast and snacking selection with new offerings from Canyon Bakehouse, Dave’s Killer Bread, Simple Mills, Tastykake and Wonder brands.

The company’s new breakfast offerings span bagels, breakfast bars, English muffins, doughnuts, Danishes and pancake and waffle mixes. Snack additions include protein and snack bars, snack bites, crème filled cakes and crackers.

The introductions highlight Flowers’ focus on broadening its breakfast and snacking portfolio with products that are suited to a range of preferences, occasions and routines.

Personalized choices for today’s consumer

Mark Courtney, Flowers Foods chief brand officer, said the new lineup reflects the increasingly varied ways consumers approach breakfast and snacking.

“Today’s breakfast and snacking choices are far more personal and varied than ever before,” he said.

“Across our portfolio, we’re responding with new products that reflect those differing needs – from organic and protein-forward options to nostalgic, indulgent favorites – including formats designed for easy, on-the-go eating, giving consumers more ways to enjoy great taste from our trusted brands throughout the day.”

Simple Mills goes regenerative

As part of the launches, the company has introduced its first Regenerative Organic Certified products through the Simple Mills brand.

Regenerative Organic Certified is a third-party certification that builds on the foundation of USDA Certified Organic, with a focus on farming practices designed to strengthen the long-term resilience of the food system.

In addition, half of Simple Mills’ portfolio recently received verification under the new Non-UPF Verified Standard, a label helping consumers identify foods made with minimally processed ingredients and methods. The remaining half of the brand’s portfolio is pending evaluation.

“This year has been one of the biggest years for innovation at Simple Mills since our brand’s inception,” said Michelle Lorge, Simple Mills president.

“Inspired by our belief that food can have a profound impact on human and planetary health, we are excited to expand our selection of delicious, simple ingredient offerings to fuel consumer routines and make it easy for them to feel good about what they’re eating.”

Dave’s Killer Bread adds organic options

Dave’s Killer Bread recently debuted two new organic breakfast offerings.

Organic Epic Everything and Plain Awesome mini bagels have 100 calories per item. The brand also features limited-time seasonal bagels: Summer Berry launched in April, while Pumpkin Spice Madness will arrive in the fall and Rosemary Olive Oil in winter.

Simple Mills expands pantry and snack options

Simple Mills’ first Regenerative Organic Certified products launched this month: Original Pancake & Waffle Mix and Cinnamon Swirl Muffin & Cake Mix. Each mix is crafted with six simple ingredients like oat flour and coconut sugar.

The Oat Flour Cinnamon Swirl Muffin & Cake Mix features a cinnamon swirl center and a cinnamon sugar topping. The mix allows for easy, one-bowl preparation of muffins or a snackable cake. The original pancake and waffle mix has a light texture for two breakfast classics.

Additional new easy-to-grab snack offerings launching this month from Simple Mills include Nut & Seed Trail Bars in Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Almond Pecan varieties.

Sweet Mmms are crunchy and sweet snacks made with a blend of organic sweet potato, organic buckwheat flour and organic tigernut flour. They are available in Cocoa Blast and Cinnamon Burst.

Sour Cream & Onion Pop Mmms are an airy cracker made with organic butternut squash and organic red beans. Parmesan Garlic Almond Flour Crackers, launching in May, are a blend of almond flour, sunflower seeds and flax seeds that bring a bold savory flavor to every light and crispy cracker.
