IGA USA has announced a new Red Oval partnership with LOC Software, a grocery point-of-sale and retail technology provider. With the agreement, IGA’s network of more than 3,500 independent U.S. grocery stores are gaining access to LOC’s configurable software suite, ThriVersA.
“Our IGA retailers have asked for solutions to help them stay competitive today and give them a foundation to take advantage of new technologies in the future,” said Michael La Kier, IGA SVP of brand development. “Our partnership with LOC will create new opportunities for grocers to streamline operations and innovate.”
Under the partnership, LOC will offer IGA retailers hardware-agnostic POS software that runs on any browser-enabled device, from stationary checkout terminals to kiosks, tablets and mobile devices, along with cloud solutions that minimize on-site infrastructure and centralize IT management.
The suite’s loyalty capabilities let grocers analyze customer data to create targeted offers and manage more than 30 points-based and punch-card programs, natively or integrated with popular grocery loyalty solutions, with a built-in coupon wizard spanning fixed, mobile, online and self-checkout points of sale.
A multi-tenant architecture runs multiple locations on a single database, eliminating individual store servers, while a centralized command center gives IT teams control over data flow and setup without third-party IT services.
ThriVersA also gives grocers complete control of their data for decisions on purchasing, inventory, pricing and promotions.
“We are looking forward to expanding our relationships with IGA retailers and providing them with the POS and retail management software they need to evolve with consumers’ expectations and a rapidly changing industry,” said Gilles Lapierre, CEO of LOC.
Founded in 1926, IGA is the world’s largest voluntary supermarket network, with more than 8,500 stores globally and aggregate worldwide retail sales of more than $43 billion annually.
Laval, Quebec-based LOC has provided retail technology for more than three decades, with ThriVersA modules spanning point of sale, back office, e-commerce, self-service and loyalty.
