The National Grocers Association has appointed Troy Wolfe as director of membership and engagement – West. Wolfe will focus on strengthening relationships with current members, expanding NGA’s membership in the western U.S. and identifying new ways to engage independent grocers, wholesalers and industry partners.

Based in Oregon, Wolfe has decades of grocery experience spanning independent retail, chain operations, wholesale distribution, sales and business development. He has held leadership positions with C&S Wholesale Grocers, most recently as senior manager of accounts and business development, and with UNFI as a sales consultant.

“Troy brings a valuable combination of wholesale, retail and business development experience to NGA,” said Jonathan Downey, NGA COO and SVP. “His firsthand understanding of the independent grocery industry and his longstanding relationships across the industry will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our member relationships and expand our presence throughout the Western United States.”

Wolfe will work to deepen engagement with existing members, recruit new ones and strengthen connections with state grocery associations and other industry organizations in the West, while connecting members with NGA’s programs and signature events, including the NGA Show. Kari Wolkwitz, NGA’s director of membership engagement and growth, continues to lead membership efforts in the Eastern U.S.

NGA represents the retail and wholesale community grocers of the independent sector, which generates more than $250 billion in sales and 1.1 million jobs.
