Mezete, the Amman, Jordan-based maker of Middle Eastern foods, is adding several U.S. retail and online partners, extending its reach beyond the natural and conventional grocers already carrying the brand.
New placements include Thrive Market and World Market nationally; Hy-Vee in Midwestern states; Giant Eagle’s Market District banner in Pennsylvania and Ohio; Heinen’s in Ohio and Illinois; Market of Choice in Oregon; Earth Fare in the Southeast; and Associated Food Stores in Utah. Mezete already is sold at Giant Eagle, Albertsons, Meijer, ShopRite and all Whole Foods Market locations nationwide.
The line comprises hummus, dips, sauces, soups and stews, plus Grab N Go hummus snacks with breadsticks; all are made with traditional Middle Eastern ingredients sourced in Amman. The products also are Non-GMO Project Verified, vegan, Halal-certified and made without preservatives or added oils, with many gluten-free options. The company said the expansion comes as American demand keeps growing for plant-based foods and globally inspired flavors.
“Middle Eastern cuisine continues to gain momentum as consumers look for foods that deliver both bold flavor and wholesome ingredients,” said Khaled Kasih, CEO of Kasih Foods, Mezete’s parent company. “At Mezete, we’re proud to share authentic recipes rooted in Middle Eastern culinary traditions while meeting today’s demand for convenient, clean-label foods.”
Beyond its hummus varieties – which the company makes with the higher levels of tahini to create the velvety texture found in authentic homemade recipes – the portfolio spans baba ghanouj and muhammara dips; tahini, shatta and toum sauces; and soups and stews including adas (spiced lentil), freekeh (smoked wheat kernel), mulukhiyeh and a shakshouka base.
The brand’s recognition includes a 2026 Vegan Besties Award from World of Vegan at Expo West for its To Go Classic Hummus and a SIAL Shanghai Innovation Award for its snacking range. Mezete is sold in 50 countries, recently entering the U.S. market.
