Publix has opened a new store in Apopka, Florida, and set an Oct. 21 grand opening for a new location in Fayetteville, North Carolina, as the Lakeland, Florida-based grocer continues adding stores throughout the Southeast.
The Apopka store opened Sept. 24 at The Shoppes at East Shore, 2411 Ocoee Apopka Road. The 48,387-square-foot store features a full-service deli with more than 150 artisan cheeses, a scratch bakery, a produce department with organic, conventional and locally grown offerings, a meat department with Publix’s private label GreenWise chicken, fresh seafood with daily hand-rolled sushi, and a full-service pharmacy with a drive-thru.
An adjacent Publix Liquors location offers beer, wine and spirits, and delivery is available through Instacart.
“Opening a new store is always a special occasion for our associates,” said Hannah Herring, media relations manager at Publix. “We’re proud to bring a new Publix to Apopka and look forward to creating an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers.”
Fayetteville store opens next month
The Publix at Rockfish Village, 7483 Rockfish Road in Fayetteville, is scheduled to open at 7 a.m. Oct. 21. The 48,387-square-foot store will employ approximately 140 associates.

Publix, the largest employee-owned company in the U.S. with more than 260,000 associates, operates 1,444 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky.
