Kroger‘s Texas Division broke ground Sept. 25 on its newest Kroger Marketplace store in North Texas, at the corner of FM 471 and Sunshine Boulevard in Crandall.
Crandall is the fourth Kroger Marketplace groundbreaking in the region this year, following McKinney, Fate and Princeton, and the sixth Marketplace store currently under construction in North Texas, joining locations in Anna, Fate, McKinney, Princeton and the Sendera Ranch community of north Fort Worth.
Kroger is investing nearly $40 million in the store, which will span nearly 100,000 square feet and create approximately 200 jobs with competitive wages, benefits and a pension.
“Crandall marks Kroger’s fourth groundbreaking this year in North Texas and we currently have six stores under construction in booming areas of the Metroplex,” said Rudy DiPietro, president of Kroger’s Texas Division. “Kaufman County is one of the fastest growing locations in the country and as communities continue their explosive growth, Kroger is also growing to meet their needs for fresh, affordable groceries and essentials.”
The store will feature a Murray’s Cheese counter, a full-service grocery, pharmacy and expanded general merchandise including home goods and toys, plus a fuel center with 14 fueling positions and a grab-and-go kiosk offering beverages and snacks.
The groundbreaking ceremony included remarks from DiPietro and Crandall Mayor David Lindsey.
