Spins, the Chicago-based provider of CPG data, insights and commerce solutions, has launched Spins Agentic Discovery, a platform designed to help brands compete as consumers increasingly rely on AI assistants, conversational search and recommendation engines to guide purchasing decisions.

The platform shows how products appear in AI-generated recommendations, exposes gaps and directs teams to the fixes most likely to improve visibility, relevance and revenue. Traditional product content was built for retailer shelves, search engines and human shoppers, the company noted; AI systems instead evaluate products through machine-readable attributes, credible evidence and contextual signals.

“AI-mediated commerce is transforming how products are discovered, evaluated, and ultimately purchased,” said Jessica Wright, SVP of Spins Foundry, the company’s data platform for agents and applications. “As AI becomes the gateway between consumers and brands, companies need more than visibility into how their products are represented. They need a way to influence those outcomes. Agentic Discovery combines AI visibility intelligence with the product, category, and performance data Spins is known for, helping brands turn AI-powered discovery into measurable growth.”

How the platform works

Combining real-time AI visibility signals with Spins’ category intelligence, proprietary product attribution and retail point-of-sale data, the platform offers:

  • Commercial-grade AI auditing: a view into how AI assistants, conversational search engines and autonomous agents interpret, summarize, cite and recommend products, brands and attributes.
  • Revenue-prioritized optimization: identifying and prioritizing the content improvements most likely to increase visibility, influence recommendation outcomes and drive category growth.
  • AI-ready knowledge graph integration: structured, context-rich product intelligence from the Spins Product Knowledge Graph, helping ensure products are understood, surfaced and recommended as intended.

Unlike general-purpose generative engine optimization tools focused on visibility alone, the company said, Agentic Discovery anchors AI visibility in commerce intelligence, connecting product attributes, retail performance and shopper intent.

“The next battleground for consumer brands isn’t the shelf or the search engine, it’s the AI recommendation,” said Dan Buckstaff, chief product officer at Spins. “Brands can no longer assume that great products will be discovered on their own. Agentic Discovery helps them understand how AI systems interpret and recommend their products, then prioritizes the actions most likely to improve visibility, accelerate conversion, and grow market share.”
