Kroger‘s Texas Division celebrated the grand reopening of its North Richland Hills Marketplace store at 9150 North Tarrant Parkway on Sept. 18, following an investment of more than $2.5 million. North Richland Hills sits in the northeast corner of the Fort Worth metro area.
The project continues the division’s steady refresh program, which has about 27 store remodels planned in Texas this year as part of a strategy of touching each store every seven to nine years. Improvements at the location include enhanced decor and layout, expanded selections in the bakery, deli, produce, floral and meat and seafood departments, and hundreds of new fresh, healthy, organic and locally sourced products throughout the store.
“This store was remodeled to meet the unique needs of the local community, as we’ve upgraded efficiencies in the store, while adding hundreds of new fresh, healthy, organic, and locally sourced products,” said Rudy DiPietro, president of Kroger’s Texas Division. “We are excited to welcome the community back to what we feel is the finest grocery store in the neighborhood.”
Ribbon cutting and community giving
The 10 a.m. celebration featured a welcome from John Votava, the division’s director of communications and public affairs, followed by remarks from DiPietro and store leader Kourt Trahan, who was joined by leadership and associates for the official ribbon cutting. Kroger also presented a $1,000 donation to North Richland Hills Animal Services to help provide food and supplies for adoptable pets.
Beginning at 8 a.m., shoppers enjoyed product samples, with the first 200 receiving a breakfast item giveaway. The reopening kicked off a special weekly ad with exclusive savings running Sept. 18-22, including 20 cents off per gallon at the store’s fuel center with a Kroger Rewards Card from Sept. 18-20.
