Winn-Dixie has expanded Hispanic assortments throughout more than 30 of its stores, with additional locations planned, and is spotlighting the effort during Hispanic Heritage Month with dedicated in-store displays and special savings in its Florida and south Georgia markets.
Since rebranding from Southeastern Grocers in January and concentrating its footprint in Florida, The Winn-Dixie Co. is tailoring each store’s assortment to reflect the specific Hispanic communities it serves, rolling out the expanded sets over time based on local tastes and traditions rather than deploying a uniform planogram.
The assortment reaches well beyond center store, spanning dairy, frozen, produce, bakery, deli, meat and seafood. Shoppers can find pantry staples and Hispanic cheeses; roots, tropical fruits, plantains and fresh culantro; tres leches desserts and Cuban and Puerto Rican breads; prepared favorites such as ropa vieja and sweet plantains; and specialty meat and seafood selections including picanha, whole snapper and corvina, a lineup whose Cuban and Puerto Rican specificity mirrors the communities in the grocer’s core markets.
Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs through Oct. 15, customers can shop dedicated displays featuring Hispanic favorites and special savings on select items.
The effort is part of the Jacksonville, Florida-based grocer’s continued focus on offering products that reflect how its local communities cook, eat and gather.
The Winn-Dixie Co. operates approximately 130 conventional grocery stores in Florida and south Georgia along with a network of liquor stores. C&S Wholesale Grocers set to become its majority owner in a transaction expected to close in early 2027.
