Weis Markets celebrated the grand reopening of its remodeled store at 140 Continental Boulevard in Danville, Pennsylvania, with a ribbon cutting ceremony Sept. 3 at 11 a.m.
To mark the occasion, the Sunbury, Pennsylvania-based grocer presented donations to the Danville SPCA, Danville Food Bank and VFW Post 298.
The remodel brings a refreshed interior and upgraded exterior, along with improvements throughout the store’s fresh departments. Upgrades include:
- A revamped beer café;
- A Starbucks café offering hot and cold beverages with mobile app ordering;
- An expanded, market-style produce department with a wider variety of fresh items;
- Full-service seafood and meat departments;
- A transformed deli and food service area featuring pizza and sushi, specialty cheeses and an expanded selection of meals to go;
- A revamped bakery with an expanded selection of baked goods;
- An enhanced floral department;
- Renovated restrooms; and
- Energy-efficient refrigerated and frozen cases equipped with low-impact refrigerants.
The Danville project continues a steady remodel pace for Weis, which reopened its remodeled Laurel, Maryland, store in August and completed an expansion and remodel in Linglestown, Pennsylvania, in June.
