The Giant Company will celebrate the grand reopening of its Martin’s store at 190 Flowing Springs Road in Charles Town, West Virginia, on Friday, Sept. 4, following several months of major renovations. The store remained open throughout the remodel.
“For 30 years and counting, Martin’s has served the Charles Town community, delivering the grocery solutions and products our customers expect,” said Gregory Funkhouser, Charles Town Martin’s store manager. “During this remodel, every department throughout the store was touched in some way to allow us to demonstrate our commitment to value and freshness.”
Changes across the store
The store’s signature fresh departments — produce, bakery, meat and seafood, and floral — along with center store aisles have been updated with improved efficiencies and an enhanced product assortment. The deli and prepared foods department underwent a complete overhaul and now offers more hot and prepared foods and grab-and-go items, and a new salad bar was added to the produce department.
The beer and wine area received expanded refrigeration and an improved aisle flow, while the pharmacy was fully redesigned and replaced, adding a consultation room for administering vaccines in a more private setting. Martin’s signature Wall of Values also has been refreshed, offering one-stop shopping for key sale items from the weekly circular.
Elements of the celebration
Grand reopening festivities Sept. 4 include a gift card raffle, giveaways and free cake, along with product samplings throughout the store from vendor partners including Boar’s Head, Tuscan Boule and Hissho Sushi.
The remodel is the latest in a series of renovations for the Carlisle, Pennsylvania-based grocer, which reopened its remodeled Stephens City, Virginia, Martin’s on Aug. 7, unveiled two remodeled Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, stores in July and has additional remodels underway at two Winchester, Virginia, Martin’s stores and a Giant in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania.
The Charles Town Martin’s, which has served the community since 1996, is open daily 6 a.m.-11 p.m. and employs approximately 175 team members. The Giant Company operates nearly 200 stores under the Giant and Martin’s banners in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, with more than 35,000 team members.
