ShopRite is celebrating its 75th anniversary with two weeks of special savings, digital offers and promotions for the customers, families and communities that have supported the brand for generations.
The celebration takes place during the sale weeks of Aug. 16 and Aug. 23 at participating ShopRite stores, with featured sale prices ending in .75 in a nod to the milestone year.
Founded in 1951 by a small group of independent New Jersey grocers in the Wakefern Food Corp. cooperative, ShopRite has grown into one of the region’s most recognized supermarket brands while staying rooted in local ownership and community commitment. Over the years, ShopRite also has helped local and regional suppliers grow alongside its member-owned stores, from neighborhood bakeries and specialty food producers to family cattle farmers.
“For 75 years, ShopRite stores have been family-owned and operated by grocers who live and work in the communities they serve,” said Darren Caudill, chief sales officer of Wakefern Food Corp. “That local connection has always been at the heart of ShopRite — helping families find more value in every shopping trip, supporting neighborhoods and showing up for customers generation after generation. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone by thanking our customers with the savings, service and quality they continue to count on every day.”
Anniversary promotions
During the week of Aug. 16, shoppers who purchase $75 or more of participating Own Brands products — including Bowl & Basket, Paperbird, Well Everyday and Wholesome Pantry — will receive $25 off their total purchase with a digital coupon, redeemable Aug. 16-22.
A Three-Day Super Sale runs Thursday, Aug. 20, through Saturday, Aug. 22, with savings on customer favorites including eggs, produce, pantry staples, snacks, cookies, ice cream and Italian sausage.
The celebration continues during the week of Aug. 23 with a Digital Doorbusters sale and circular wrap featuring 18 digital coupons on popular items.
Beyond the savings, ShopRite will mark its history by sharing stories, recipes and reflections on its website, in stores, on social media and through local radio and television advertising, inviting customers to share their own ShopRite memories.
