Weis Markets reopened its Lititz, Pennsylvania, pharmacy Aug. 11 in a temporary facility in the parking lot of its store at 740 S. Broad St., which has been closed since sustaining significant damage during a July 5 storm.
Pharmacy customers can access the temporary facility, a modular building, via the West Seventh Street entrance. The pharmacy is operating regular hours while the store is repaired: 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.
“We have reopened our Lititz Pharmacy in a temporary facility while we continue to repair our store,” said Dennis Curtin, Weis Markets director of public relations. “Our construction team is making steady progress, and we expect to reopen in the late fall. We appreciate our customers’ patience and support and look forward to once again serving the Lititz community, as we have for more than 60 years.”
The store’s roof was damaged by strong winds the evening of July 5 around 8:45 p.m., and employees and customers were safely evacuated with no injuries reported. The location’s 115 associates were temporarily reassigned to nearby Weis Markets until the repairs can be made.
Lititz is located outside Lancaster in southeastern Pennsylvania.
