The American Frozen Food Institute has hired Garreth Hubbard as senior director of government affairs, an appointment that was effective Aug. 3.
Hubbard joins the association from Land O’Lakes Inc., where he was senior manager of federal government and industry relations. He spent more than a decade with the farmer-owned cooperative working across agriculture, business strategy and public policy.
In the new role, he will lead AFFI’s engagement with policymakers on issues affecting frozen food manufacturers.
“Garreth brings an impressive combination of policy expertise, strategic advocacy experience, and strong relationships across the food and agriculture landscape,” said Lisa Van Doren, AFFI’s chief of government affairs. “His deep understanding of federal policymaking will strengthen AFFI’s advocacy efforts and help ensure our members’ voices are heard on the issues that matter most to frozen food makers.”
“I am excited to join AFFI at this critical moment in food and nutrition policy, and advocate on behalf of an industry that provides safe and accessible food solutions,” Hubbard said. “Frozen food manufacturers are innovating to meet the needs of consumers while supporting jobs and economic growth.”
Hubbard holds a master’s degree in agricultural economics from Alcorn State University and a bachelor’s in agricultural economics from Florida A&M University.
Arlington, Virginia-based AFFI represents all segments of the frozen food supply chain, from manufacturers to suppliers and distributors.
