PepsiCo has launched Alvalle gazpacho in the United States, initially testing the refrigerated product at select Whole Foods Market locations.

Purchase, New York-based PepsiCo said the introduction “marks a continued step in the company’s expansion into fresh, meal-adjacent foods and the growing chilled category.”

The ready-to-eat chilled soup is made with tomatoes, cucumber, peppers and extra-virgin olive oil.

Alvalle is not a new brand for PepsiCo. Founded in Murcia, Spain, in 1991 and acquired by PepsiCo in 1999, the line includes Original Gazpacho, Smooth Gazpacho without Cucumber, Salmorejo and Ajoblanco. The brand leads Spain’s refrigerated branded gazpacho category with a 17 percent share, according to FY25 Nielsen data cited by the company.

In early 2026, PepsiCo extended Alvalle into ready-to-heat vegetable soups in Spain, part of a broader push to make the seasonal brand a year-round business.

“Alvalle meets a very real consumer need, people want food made from recognizable ingredients that fits into their everyday lives,” said Pol Codina, SVP and general manager of Food Ventures at PepsiCo. “As we expand our portfolio, we are focused on bringing more real, ingredient-forward foods into everyday eating occasions.”

What it means for retailers

The launch reflects PepsiCo’s interest in the chilled perimeter as a growth and discovery area, a departure from the center-store snack and beverage aisles where the company has traditionally competed. PepsiCo also acquired full ownership of Sabra, which makes refrigerated dips and spreads, in December 2024.

The Whole Foods placement gives the brand a test bed among shoppers already shopping premium refrigerated meal solutions before any broader distribution.

“The way people eat continues to evolve, and we’re seeing growing demand for foods that combine convenience, quality and great taste,” said Marisa Perez, SVP and general manager of the Fresh Experiences portfolio at PepsiCo Foods U.S. “Consumers are looking for simple, delicious options that fit seamlessly into their everyday lives, and Alvalle helps us meet them where they are today. Whether it’s an addition to a busy weekday lunch, an afternoon snack or a casual summer gathering, Alvalle offers a ready-to-enjoy option made with quality ingredients.”

PepsiCo generated nearly $94 billion in net revenue in 2025 across a beverage and convenient foods portfolio that includes Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos, Gatorade, Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, Quaker and SodaStream.
