Joe V’s Smart Shop, part of the H-E-B family of brands, plans to open two new stores in the Houston, Texas, area. They will be located near the City Park community at 1227 W. Orem Drive near Highway 288 and in Humble at 19611 US-59 near Interstate 69.
Work is underway on the 57,000-square-foot stores, with the Humble location expected to open in early 2027 and the Orem Drive store in late 2027.
Joe V’s Smart Shop is a price-focused format offering fresh produce, in-store cut meats, breads and tortillas made in store and sushi made daily. The two locations will be the first Joe V’s Smart Shops to offer H-E-B South Flo Pizza, handcrafted in-house as a grab-and-go meal option. Both stores also will offer home delivery to customers in the surrounding neighborhoods.
The company uses cost-reduction measures throughout its operations and passes those savings on to its customers, known as Smart Shoppers. 
Each store will employ more than 200 Joe V’s Partners, including many from the local community. The brand provides training, competitive pay, a benefits package and career and leadership development.
Departments and offerings at the new stores also will include:
- In-store cut meat, chicken and seafood;
- Produce delivered daily, an assortment of fresh-cut ready-to-serve fruits and vegetables and 3 pounds of bananas for $1;
- A bakery featuring in-store made tortillas, pastries, breads and bolillos;
- H-E-B Meal Simple chef-inspired meals;
- Sushiya handmade sushi made in store daily and an Asian grill with rice bowls, teriyaki and more;
- Joe V’s Bundle boxes with seasoned meats, starting at $20;
- A Latino cheese selection;
- Grocery and general merchandise selections including dairy, frozen foods, seasonal items, cookware, small appliances and toys;
- Nutritional supplements, medications, personal hygiene and baby essentials; and
- Self-checkout lanes.
Joe V’s Smart Shop launched in 2010 and employs more than 2,700 Partners across 14 stores in the Houston and Dallas areas.
