Giant sustainability

The Giant Co. has begun renovations at two Martin’s stores in Winchester, Virginia, and one Giant store in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania. All three stores will remain open during renovations, which are expected to be completed by the end of the year.

In Winchester, the Martin’s stores at 1950 S. Pleasant Valley Road and 200 Rivendell Court are both undergoing updates. The S. Pleasant Valley Road store opened in 1990 and has about 130 employees, while the Rivendell Court store opened in 2006 and the same number of employees. The Montgomeryville Giant, located at 1201 Knapp Road in North Wales, Pennsylvania, opened in 2001 and employs approximately 150 team members. All three stores are open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“We hope customers will pardon our dust over the next several months as we work to bring an even better shopping experience to them,” said Marquis Black, S. Pleasant Valley Road store manager. “The entire store team is excited about this remodel, which will put value and freshness front and center for our Winchester customers.”

At all three locations, the fresh offerings – produce, bakery, meat and seafood – along with center store aisles and beer and wine areas, will be updated with improved efficiencies and enhanced product assortments. The deli and prepared foods departments will undergo overhauls to offer more Grab ‘n Go items. Pharmacy customers at each store will soon have a new consultation room for pharmacists to administer immunizations in a more private setting.

“We’re continuously looking for new ways to enhance the shopping experience for our customers, while never wavering from our focus on value and freshness,” said Anthony Taylor, Montgomeryville Giant store manager. “Once the remodel is completed, customers will find a better flow throughout the various departments, in addition to increased product offerings.”

Chris Brooks, Rivendell Court Martin’s store manager, added, “This store remodel is focused on bringing our customers a refreshed shopping experience – from offering more product variety, including Martin’s brand items, to making needed updates across every department.”

For greater shopping convenience during the remodel, Winchester customers are encouraged to try Martin’s Direct at martinsfoods.com, while Montgomeryville customers can use Giant Direct at giantdirect.com for online ordering and curbside pickup.
