Hannaford Supermarkets has announced plans to relocate its store and pharmacy in Pawling, New York, to a newly constructed building across the street.
The Scarborough, Maine-based grocer said the move will significantly increase the store size and offerings. The 49,000‑square‑foot store will be located at the intersection of Route 22 and Akindale Road and will feature a full‑service pharmacy.
Construction is expected to begin in late fall 2026, with an opening anticipated in summer 2027.
“We’re thrilled to share this news with our Pawling customers and associates,” said Mary Kramer, director of retail operations for Hannaford Supermarkets.
“This move reflects our commitment to continually improving the shopping experience for our customers. The larger footprint and updated features will give us the space and amenities needed to serve the Pawling community for years to come.”
The new Pawling store will offer the everyday low prices that customers expect, with the added benefit of My Hannaford Rewards, a program that allows users to earn 2 percent rewards on all private brand purchases and receive personalized coupons. It will continue to offer Hannaford To Go pickup and delivery service.
In addition, it will continue contributing to local nonprofit organizations and hunger relief efforts.
Every Hannaford store donates rescued food to area food pantries and regularly supports local partners and schools. In 2025, Hannaford donated nearly 29 million pounds of food – the equivalent of 24 million meals – to people and families experiencing food insecurity.
