Retailer Owned Food Distributors & Associates (ROFDA) continues to strengthen its collective platform with the addition of Lufkin, Texas-based Brookshire Bros. as its newest member.
Brookshire Bros. joins a growing network of wholesalers, retailers and independent grocers committed to driving competitiveness and long-term success across the independent grocery channel.
Known for its strong retail identity and community roots, Brookshire Bros. brings valuable, hands-on operating perspective to ROFDA’s collaborative network.
The new membership reinforces ROFDA’s core mission: helping members achieve more together than any single organization could alone. Through strategic supplier engagement, share group participation and technology-driven collaboration, ROFDA enables members to gain collective scale, shared insights and coordinated impact – particularly in areas like CPG partnerships, operational practices and data advancement.
ROFDA’s growth strategy remains intentional. The association seeks to add high-quality wholesalers and self-distributing retailers whose participation will enhance the collective reach, scale and marketplace relevance of the entire group – not simply expand for its own sake.
“We took a thoughtful look at ROFDA and the value it brings to its members, suppliers and the independent retail community,” said John Alston, president and CEO of Brookshire Bros.
“What stood out to us was the practical nature of the collaboration, the access to executive and functional share groups and the focus on doing together what can make each member more competitive. We believe Brookshire Bros. can both benefit from and contribute to that collective value.”
