Lowes Foods will open a new store June 18 at the intersection of Kannapolis Parkway and Rogers Lake Road in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
A pre‑opening block party will take place from 1‑3 p.m. on June 14. The company also announced a new store in south Mooresville at the corner of Mecklenburg Highway and the East‑West Connector, which is under construction and slated to open in 2027.
The Kannapolis store features Lowes Foods’ signature “Originals” – specialty departments that differentiate the grocer from conventional supermarkets. These include the Beer Den (craft drafts with half‑price pints on Thursday and Friday Night Flights), Boxcar Coffee, the Cakery (square cakes assembled in‑store), a Cheese Shop, the Community Table (made from reclaimed local barn wood for events and classes), SausageWorks (locally made sausages in a variety of flavors), the Chicken Kitchen (fresh, never frozen, locally-sourced chicken with no antibiotics ever), the Smokehouse (daily wood‑smoked meats), and Sammy’s (custom sandwiches and pizza using Boar’s Head products).
The store also offers online shopping through Lowes Foods to Go.

The Kannapolis store joins previously announced locations in Wendell and Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, and Lyman, South Carolina. The Mooresville store will open in 2027.
