Publix opened two new stores Nov. 4, marking its entry into Putnam County, Georgia, with a location at Town Center at Lake Oconee in Eatonton and adding a store at Village Commons in Wesley Chapel, North Carolina.
The stores share several common characteristics:
- a 50,325-square-foot format;
- full-service deli counters offering more than 150 artisan cheeses, meats, olives, hummus and more;
- produce departments with both organic and locally grown selections;
- floral departments with offerings including seasonal bouquets;
- scratch bakeries offering breads, rolls, cakes, cookies, pies, wedding cakes and desserts, staffed by bakers and cake decorators;
- custom-cut meat departments with custom cuts of meat, both Publix private label and GreenWise chicken and ready-to-cook items;
- seafood departments with frequently-delivered wild and farm-raised fish, shellfish and daily hand-rolled sushi;
- full-service pharmacies with drive-thru prescription pickup, plus natural and conventional vitamins, minerals and supplements; and
- Publix Delivery powered by Instacart.
Eatonton: first Publix in Putnam County
The new Eatonton store, located at 105 Lake Country Blvd., is Publix’s first in Putnam County and will bring approximately 150 new jobs to the area.

Wesley Chapel: new store at Village Commons
The Wesley Chapel store, at 6460 Weddington Road in the Charlotte suburbs, also offers free event menu planning through its catering service.
