Aldi is bringing back its Advent calendars Nov. 4, while supplies last, with its largest assortment yet: more than 25 varieties starting at $1.99 and spanning categories from beauty, baking and stationery to magnetic building toys, non-chocolate candy and Aldi-branded keepsakes, with many available exclusively at Aldi. The expansion follows select Advent calendar sales rising nearly 20 percent last year and the launch of the Aldi Blind Box earlier this year, which the grocer says confirmed shoppers’ appetite for surprise moments.
“Who says the best part of the holidays has to take place only one day?” said Bridget Kozlowski, director of communications at Aldi U.S. “Since our first Wine Advent Calendar in 2018, we’ve found new ways to make the countdown part of the celebration. This year, we’re giving shoppers more ways to celebrate the little moments leading up to the holidays, with trending countdowns they might not expect to find at their grocery store.”
‘Super Fan’ advent calendar among additions
New calendars this year include the Aldi Super Fan Advent Calendar ($29.99), packed with 12 Aldi-branded items from wine stoppers and ornaments to socks and snow globes; the Crofton 24 Days of Baking calendar ($19.99) with baking gadgets and tools; a Creativity for Kids Sensory calendar ($14.99) with slimes, doughs and squishies; and a Stationery calendar ($19.99).
Returning favorites get a refresh, led by the Wine Advent Calendar ($59.99) and Emporium Selection Advent Cheese Calendar ($16.99), designed this year to be enjoyed together, with each day’s wine intentionally paired with a complementary cheese, such as a Chardonnay-Fiano with Herb & Garlic Gouda, and an all-new wine selection from regions including Greece and France. The Barissimo Coffee and Cocoa calendar ($16.99) adds a cocoa variation, while the Burman’s Hot Sauce calendar ($14.99, with 25 bottles), Pure Being Dog calendar ($7.99) and the $1.99 Choceur Kids chocolate calendar also return.
