Lay's chips

Lay’s is bringing its “Holi-Lay’s” lineup to snack aisles nationwide. The five limited-time flavors inspired by holiday courses – from savory sides and a turkey centerpiece to sweet-and-salty desserts – are rolling out in waves beginning Oct. 25.

The PepsiCo brand is leaning into food gifting: 78 percent of consumers consider food a great holiday gift and 55 percent prefer it over other types of gifts, according to a RepData survey of 1,000 Americans fielded for PepsiCo Foods in August.

“The holidays are all about gathering around the table with friends and family, and food plays an important role in those celebrations,” said Denise Truelove, SVP of marketing at PepsiCo Foods. “With this year’s Holi-Lay’s lineup, we’re bringing fans flavors inspired by courses on the holiday table, so they can taste the joy of the holiday season before the table has been set and after it’s been cleared.”

The rollout schedule:

  • Oct. 25: Lay’s Cheddar Scalloped-Style Potatoes and Lay’s Roasted Holiday Turkey, with roasted turkey flavor and rich gravy taste, debut nationwide.
  • Nov. 8: Lay’s Maple Bacon, balancing sweet maple and smoky bacon, makes its first U.S. appearance.
  • Dec. 1: Lay’s Wavy Milk Chocolate and Lay’s Wavy Dubai-Style Dark Chocolate covered potato chips, the latter pairing dark chocolate and pistachios, hit shelves at select retailers, with expansion planned in 2027.

The Dubai-style entry puts Lay’s in one of confection’s hottest lanes. “Dubai chocolate,” the pistachio-and-chocolate combination popularized by a viral Emirati chocolatier’s pistachio-kataifi bar, has swept social media and spawned adaptations from mainstream candy makers over the past two years; now the trend is jumping from the candy aisle into salty snacks.

Beginning Oct. 26, fans can scan the code on qualifying Lay’s bags or visit HappyHoli-Lays.com to enter the Happy Holi-Lay’s Sweepstakes, with prizes including a glass chip bowl, a holiday sweater, a charcuterie set and a Lay’s x Le Creuset signature oval casserole.

Lay’s, part of Plano, Texas-based PepsiCo Foods, has been made since 1938, with potatoes grown on more than 100 farms in North America.
