Mueller Yurgae Associates, a regional food broker serving retailers and manufacturers in the Midwest and beyond, has acquired Minnesota-based Timmons Sheehan Company, effective Oct. 1.
The two brokers have a long history of working together to grow brands and serve clients, including sharing office space in the Minneapolis area. The acquisition brings the organizations together under the MYA name.
“Timmons Sheehan has been a trusted partner of MYA for many years, and we are excited to officially bring our teams together,” said Jeff Yurgae, president of Mueller Yurgae Associates. “We know their people, we know the quality of their work, and we share the same commitment to our clients and customers.”
All Timmons Sheehan employees have joined MYA and will continue working with the clients and customers they serve today. Doug Blake, president of Timmons Sheehan, will continue with MYA as a senior leader assisting with the transition.

As part of the integration, Jake Durand and Ryan Blake will take on leadership roles within MYA, helping lead the company’s Target, UNFI and Midwest grocery teams, described as areas where Timmons Sheehan brings extensive customer experience.
Wisconsin Grocery Group brand retired
The acquisition also will simplify how MYA represents its business in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Grocery Group – established as a partnership among MYA, Shankman & Associates and Timmons Sheehan to provide expanded coverage in the Wisconsin market – will be retired as a brand. MYA and Shankman & Associates will continue their partnership in the state, with the same team supporting manufacturers and retailers, operating directly under the two companies’ established names.
The Timmons Sheehan brand will transition to Mueller Yurgae Associates over the coming months as the integration is completed.
Founded in 1975, family-owned MYA is headquartered in Grimes, Iowa, and represents clients in the grocery, convenience, specialty, dollar and mass merchandise channels. As a CSN Partner, MYA provides national coverage through a network of regional agencies.
