Krusteaz is launching the limited-edition Pancake Pause Box, a phone safe designed to help families unplug and connect around the breakfast table. Phones go inside, a knob locks the box and notifications stay on pause while the pancakes pile up.
Each box comes with a year’s worth of Krusteaz Buttermilk Complete Pancake Mix, which the company defines as eight 32-ounce boxes, based on one box consumed every month and a half.
“As our lives become more intertwined with technology, people are craving opportunities to go offline and connect in real life,” said Andy Heily, president and CEO of The Krusteaz Company. “That’s what the weekend breakfast feeling is all about, slowing down over a stack of pancakes and spending time with the people you care about. With the Krusteaz Pancake Pause Box, we’re helping customers tune out the digital noise and tune into the conversations and connections that happen naturally around the breakfast table.”
Beginning at noon ET Oct. 15, consumers can request a box at PancakePauseBox.com, available in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis.
Krusteaz began in 1932, when Rose Charters created a just-add-water pie crust. Today Krusteaz, the flagship brand of family-owned The Krusteaz Company, makes mixes for pancakes, waffles, muffins, quick breads, cookies, cornbread and gluten-free products.
