Kroger Mastercard

The Kroger Co. has launched the Kroger Rewards World Elite Mastercard, a no-annual-fee credit card that lets customers earn points on everyday spending and redeem them for savings on groceries and fuel throughout the Kroger Family of Stores and participating fuel centers.

The card, which launched Sept. 30, builds on Kroger’s expanded rewards program, which added points redemption for grocery savings and not just gas earlier this year. Points carry no spending caps, do not expire while an account remains active and connect directly to customers’ loyalty accounts.

“At Kroger, we’re always looking for new ways to help customers save,” said Megan Shaffer, group VP of customer growth and strategy at Kroger. “From weekly grocery trips to filling up at the pump or paying bills, the Kroger Rewards World Elite Mastercard turns purchases into real savings. It is one more way we’re rewarding customers for the shopping they’re already doing.”

Earning structure favors Kroger channels

Cardholders can earn up to 5X points on purchases through Kroger.com and the Kroger app, 4X at participating Kroger fuel pumps, up to 3X in-store at Kroger banners, 2X on dining, utilities and travel and 1X on all other eligible purchases anywhere Mastercard is accepted. Additional benefits include a $100 welcome bonus after qualifying spend, a complimentary Boost Essential membership with free next-day delivery on minimum purchases and a $10 annual birthday reward.

The card is powered by payments and loyalty platform Imprint and issued by First Bank & Trust, with customers able to apply for and manage the card directly in the Kroger app or website.

“Kroger is one of America’s most trusted brands, with customer relationships built over decades of everyday shopping,” said Daragh Murphy, co-founder and CEO of Imprint, whose partners include Booking.com, Rakuten and Shell. “Together, we set out to turn that loyalty into a card customers reach for every day, one that rewards the weekly Kroger trip and everything in between, with the modern, seamless experience they expect.”

The card is available now. Kroger serves more than 11 million customers daily through e-commerce and stores under a variety of banners, including Kroger, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, Harris Teeter, King Soopers, Fry’s, Smith’s, QFC, Dillons and Mariano’s.
