The Coca-Cola Company has named Rob Gehring president of its North America operating unit, effective Dec. 1.
Gehring will succeed John Murphy, who has led the unit on an interim basis since Aug. 1 and remains president and CFO of the Atlanta, Georgia-based company.
Gehring returns to Coca-Cola from Monster Energy Company, where he most recently served as CEO, Americas. He assumed that role in February of this year, with responsibility for North America, Latin America and Caribbean operations. He joined Monster in 2024 as chief growth officer.

3 decades in the beverage business
Gehring began his career in the Coca-Cola system in sales and marketing in 1992, serving in roles of increasing responsibility in the United States and Canada, including president of the Coca-Cola Walmart global team from 2011-16. He joined The Hershey Company in 2016 as global chief sales officer, leading the company’s global customer organization including retail channels.
In 2018, Gehring joined Swire Coca-Cola USA as COO and was promoted to president and CEO, leading bottling operations spanning 17 states with more than 8,000 associates and establishing Swire as a top-quartile U.S. bottler. His previous board roles include the Executive Bottler Advisory Board of Keurig Dr Pepper and the American Beverage Association. He holds a degree from Arizona State University.
Coca-Cola products are sold in more than 200 countries and territories; together with its bottling partners, it employs more than 700,000 people.
