Avocados From Peru is joining forces with the Indianapolis Colts and existing Colts partner Meijer on a football-season promotion positioning avocados as a game-day staple in a Midwest market where the commodity board sees room to grow.
The centerpiece of the collaboration is the Avo-Colts Sweepstakes, running Aug. 21 through Oct. 5. Fans can enter for the opportunity to win a custom 2026 Toyota Tacoma, a $2,000 Meijer gift card or a VIP Colts experience. Three semifinalists will be invited to Lucas Oil Stadium on Oct. 18, when the Colts host the Tennessee Titans, to compete in a game-day challenge to determine who wins the truck.
“Indiana represents a tremendous growth opportunity because consumers have historically seen relatively few avocado promotions,” said Xavier Equihua, president and CEO of Avocados From Peru. “Together, we can make avocados, and especially guacamole, an even bigger part of the Midwest’s football tradition.”
“Avocados are nutritious, versatile and perfect for game-day gatherings, and this partnership gives us another memorable way to engage with our customers and Colts fans this fall,” said Melissa Conway, director of community partnerships and giving at Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Meijer.
To enter, fans must register at Colts.com/AvoColts and follow @AvosFromPeru and @MeijerStores on Instagram by Oct. 5. No purchase is necessary.
Avocados From Peru is the promotional brand of the Peruvian Avocado Commission, a U.S.-based nonprofit operating under the USDA Federal Marketing Order program. It represents Peruvian avocado growers, exporters and U.S. importers and promotes fresh Hass avocados from Peru in the United States during the summer season.
