Busch’s Fresh Food Market has completed a transformation of its Canton, Michigan, store, adding more than 1,600 items to its center store assortment along with an expanded selection of household, wellness and nutrition offerings.
The family-owned supermarket chain will mark the completion with a ribbon-cutting Sept. 4 at 10 a.m., launching a 10-day celebration sale through Sept. 13 that includes giveaways of free Hudsonville Ice Cream, eggs and produce, along with discounts.

“We have infused our Canton store, already well-known for its exceptional fresh departments, with an outstanding center store assortment to create a true one-stop shopping destination,” said Bobby Turner, president and CEO of Busch’s. “This investment reflects our long-term commitment to serving the Canton community by delivering the complete Busch’s experience, one that is unmatched in our market.”
The store, open since 2017, also received an improved frozen department flow, with realigned aisles creating a more natural path from frozen foods into dairy; upgraded center store shelving; extended grocery aisles to accommodate the expanded assortment; a Frozen Bakery relocated adjacent to the Bakery department; and refinished flooring.
Celebration events
Following the ribbon cutting, the Canton store will host a local vendor celebration Sept. 12-13, where guests can meet more than 30 local vendor partners and sample locally made products. A 150-pound swordfish cutting event is set for Sept. 19, with an expert breaking down the fish from start to finish and explaining the premium cuts.
JB’s BBQ Fest follows Oct. 3-4, with fresh-off-the-grill barbecue served on the store’s front porch and a Touch-a-Fire-Truck event with the Canton Fire Department.
The transformation continues the grocer’s recent run of store investments, which has included remodels of its Novi, Farmington Hills and Ann Arbor Main Street locations.
Founded in 1975, Busch’s Fresh Food Market operates 16 stores across Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw, Lenawee and Livingston counties and employs more than 1,600 associates. Headquartered in Ann Arbor, the company remains committed to supporting local farmers, artisans and suppliers.
