Living Fresh Market, the 71,000-square-foot supermarket at 7520 Roosevelt Road in Forest Park, Illinois, will close on Sundays starting Aug. 16, returning to a six-day operating schedule after roughly a year on seven days.
The store will keep hours of 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Living Fresh had operated six days a week before expanding to seven in 2025 in response to community demand. But management is now trading that seventh day of sales for a fixed weekly closure.
Dr. Bill Winston, founder and senior pastor of Living Word Christian Center, announced the change during worship services on July 26.
“This decision reflects who we are and what we value,” Winston said. “We remain committed to serving the community with excellence while creating a consistent opportunity for our team members and families to rest, worship and reconnect.”
Melody Winston, senior executive of Living Fresh Market, adds that the change is an investment in staffing.
“Living Fresh Market remains committed to providing quality food, excellent service and meaningful support to the community,” she said. “Reserving Sundays gives our team a consistent opportunity to rest and return ready to serve our customers well throughout the week.”

The store anchors Forest Park Plaza, a shopping center Living Word Christian Center has owned since the late 1990s. The space previously housed Ultra Foods, which closed after parent company Strack & Van Til filed for bankruptcy in 2017. Living Fresh Market opened in May 2018 under grocers Daniel and Ken Casaccio in partnership with the church, and the Winston family took full ownership in October 2021 when the Casaccios exited.
The store carries fresh produce, meat, prepared foods and a mix of traditional and international grocery products, with a full bakery and butcher counter. It has also devoted floor space to a vendor marketplace for emerging local brands.
Community programming includes vendor showcases, educational initiatives and shopping-spree events giving selected customers 60 seconds to fill a basket. Super Tuesdays, offering 15 percent off eligible purchases at the register, will continue.
