Albertsons Companies has announced that Sharon McCollam, president and CFO, plans to retire.
The retirement was announced July 23, the same day the company reported its first quarter results as well as plans to consolidate its divisions into regions and centralize its center store buying process.
McCollam, who joined Albertsons five years ago, will remain in her roles until a successor is named, then stay on in an advisory capacity through the end of the fiscal year on Feb. 27, 2027.
The Boise, Idaho-based grocer said it is conducting a search for her replacement.
“Since joining the company in 2021, she has played a critical role in shaping our financial, operational and strategic priorities, bringing a unique combination of financial discipline, operational expertise and transformation leadership,” CEO Susan Morris said. “Her impact can be seen across our digital capabilities, supply chain, technology investments and the strong financial foundation we have built for the future.”
McCollam said she retires with confidence in the company’s future. “Together, we have strengthened the company, navigated significant change and built an even stronger foundation for the future.”
According to McCollam’s bio on the Albertsons website, she oversees all aspects of corporate finance and corporate strategy, as well as information technology, supply chain operations and property development.
Prior to joining Albertsons Cos., she served as EVP, CAO and CFO at Best Buy Co., and before that, EVP, COO and CFO at Williams-Sonoma.
