Meijer Back-to-School deals

Meijer is lowering prices by up to 50 percent on nearly 200 school supplies and grocery items ahead of the 2026-27 school year, including more than 50 supplies priced under $1.

The Grand Rapids, Michigan-based retailer’s promotion runs through Sept. 8 and covers both Meijer brand and national-brand items commonly found on classroom supply lists — pencils, crayons, markers, folders, notebooks, binders and erasers among them. Meijer-brand crayons, washable school glue and a two-pack of washable glue sticks are priced at 25 cents each, with colored pencils at 50 cents and washable markers at 74 cents.

“We’re committed to making it easy for families to find great value on school supplies, clothing and everyday groceries in one stop,” said Don Sanderson, chief merchandising and marketing officer at Meijer. “By expanding the number of discounted items, we’re helping families check everything off their lists and head into the school year feeling confident and ready.”

The promotion extends to breakfast and lunchbox staples, with a number of Meijer brand grocery items priced under $2. Instant oatmeal in eight- to 12-count packs, pancake mix, syrup and toasted oats cereal are $1.79, while split-top bread, grape jelly and creamy peanut butter are $1.89.

Customers enrolled in the retailer’s mPerks loyalty program can earn points on purchases that convert to in-store coupons or fuel discounts at Meijer Express gas stations.

Meijer is a privately owned, family-operated retailer serving customers at more than 500 supercenters, grocery stores, neighborhood markets and express locations in the Midwest. The company employs more than 70,000 team members and donates at least 6 percent of its profit to community organizations.
