Dollar General is supporting families and educators with affordable, practical solutions as they get ready for the new school year. With more than 70 back-to-school items priced at $1 or less, the company is focused on helping customers stretch their budgets while still finding the supplies they need.

“The back-to-school season can put pressure on household and classroom budgets, especially when everything is needed at once,” said Steve O’Brien, VP, division merchandise manager.

“Our focus is on offering the essentials customers rely on at affordable prices, including a wide assortment of items at $1 or less, while also making shopping as easy as possible through quick in-store trips and fast, same-day delivery.”

With more than 21,000 stores across 48 states, Dollar General offers an option for customers looking to shop close to home. Through Sept. 7, verified teachers receive 30 percent off stationery category products. Dollar General’s “Teacher Social Media Sweepstakes” runs July 15-Aug. 15 on DG’s Instagram, awarding 20 educators with a $250 Dollar General gift card, with winners announced Aug. 22.

One hundred percent of the items in DG’s back-to-school section are offered at last year’s everyday low prices, including products from national brands like Crayola, Elmer’s, Sharpie, Expo, and BIC, and private brands iMagine, OfficeHub and Crafter’s Closet. More than 70 back-to-school and stationery items are priced at $1 or less, including folders, pencils and composition books. A selection of backpacks is available for $5 each in several colors. Season‑long savings include $0.50 Crayola 24 ct. crayons, $1 Crayola 12 ct. coloring pencils, $1.50 Crayola 10 ct. markers, $0.50 iMagine school glue, and 3 for $1 iMagine crayons.

Its “Build the Lunchbox” deals include fruit snacks including Gushers, Fruit by the Foot, and Fruit Roll‑Ups two for $5; Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks Buy 2 Get 1 Free; Welch’s and Peter Pan peanut butter and jelly two for $5; Cheez‑It three for $6; and Lance Crackers four for $5.

Through Dollar General’s partnership with TeacherLists, customers can search by zip code to find local school supply lists and shop more efficiently. Customers can unlock extra savings by signing up for a myDG account, which provides access to DG Digital Coupons. DG offers a $5 off $25 promotion each Saturday, along with additional savings opportunities throughout July. Customers can receive free delivery on one myDG Delivery order using their myDG account.
