Save Mart $1 off fuel promotion graphic

In what the companies describe as their biggest fuel discount to date, Save Mart and Lucky are offering Rewards members up to $1 off per gallon at participating Shell gas stations through Sept. 15.

The promotion raises the cap on how many Rewards points members can redeem per fill-up tenfold – from 100 points, worth 10 cents off per gallon, to 1,000 points, or $1 off per gallon.

Members also can earn four times the points on participating items each week through Aug. 11.

“With summer travel in full swing, families are looking to save, especially at the gas station,” said Vivek Kalpande, SVP of digital and e-commerce for The Save Mart Companies. “That’s why we’re launching this meaningful discount. For a family filling up a 20-gallon tank, we’re putting $20 back in their pocket – real savings that matter.”

Members earn 1 point for every $1 spent on qualifying purchases at participating Save Mart or Lucky stores by entering their Rewards phone numbers at checkout.

Redemptions during the offer are limited to 20 gallons per fill-up with qualifying fuel, for a maximum of $20 in savings, which members redeem by entering their phone numbers at the Shell station.

Rewards membership is free, and customers can join through the Save Mart or Lucky apps, online or in-store. The expanded fuel benefit applies automatically to current members. Other Rewards benefits include the Member Pricing program, cash back on select purchases, digital coupons and weekly Freebie Friday offers.

Modesto, California-based The Save Mart Companies operates more than 200 stores in California, western Nevada, Oregon and Washington under the Save Mart, Lucky, FoodMaxx and Roth’s and Chuck’s Fresh Market banners.
