Whole Foods Market will open a new 40,000‑square‑foot store July 29 at 180 Route 35 South in Eatontown, New Jersey.

The Eatontown location features more than 1,000 local items from the Northeast, sourced with the help of John Lawson, forager for local and emerging brands at Whole Foods Market. The décor inspiration is sunny and modern with sea‑inspired elements, including a bright pastel color palette combined with neutral tones and raw wood.

Departments include:

  • certified organic and conventional produce with local options;
  • a curated grocery section with local quinoa crisps, packaged coffee and pasta sauce;
  • a full‑service meat counter with animal‑welfare certified selections and local offerings;
  • a seafood counter with sustainable wild‑caught or responsibly-farmed offerings and local seafood cakes, stuffed clams casino and stuffed bay scallops;
  • a specialty cheese department with trained cheesemongers and local mozzarella;
  • a prepared foods department with hot and salad bars, fresh pizza, sandwiches and sushi;
  • a bakery with bread baked fresh daily and brown butter cookies, as well as local artisanal bread, pastries and sliced sandwich breads;
  • and a wellness and beauty department.

Opening morning, the first 300 customers will receive a limited‑edition Eatontown tote bag and a Secret Saver coupon with savings up to $100 off. Samples from Palazzone 1960 and coffee from Paper Plane Coffee Co. will also be available.

To celebrate the opening, Whole Foods will provide a refrigerated van and food and monetary donation to NJ Rise, which makes regular surplus food pickups from local stores, through its Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program.

All food at Whole Foods Market must meet the company’s quality standards, which prohibit hydrogenated fats, high‑fructose corn syrup, and more than 300 flavors, colors, sweeteners and other ingredients. Beauty and body care products must meet standards that ban more than 240 commonly used ingredients, including phthalates, parabens and microbeads. Prime members receive deep discounts on select popular products each week and an additional 10 percent off hundreds of in‑store sale items. Grocery pickup will be available shortly after opening.
