Giant Food celebrated the grand reopening of its remodeled store June 19 at 2932 Chain Bridge Road in Oakton, Virginia.
The store features modernized amenities including expanded seafood departments, a gourmet cheese selection, a Ledo pizza program, a full-service sushi bar and expanded food offerings. Customers at the grand opening received product samples and a free reusable bag at the register.

“This store is rich in experienced associates, with many team members having 30 years of tenure at Giant Food,” said Scott Belcher, store manager of Giant Food No. 231. “As Giant celebrates its 90-year anniversary, it shows the DMV region that our legacy is built on generations of associates who show up every day for customers, coworkers, and the community.”
During the ceremony, Paul Milazzo, director of groceries at Flowers Foods – the second-largest producer and marketer of packaged bakery foods in the U.S. – will donate $10,000 to Giant Food’s annual USO campaign. The campaign has already surpassed last year’s total of $700,000 raised for the USO and will continue through July 4 in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary.
“Just as a single seed can grow to nourish communities, a simple act of gratitude can uplift the spirits of those who defend them,” said GMilazzo. “Flowers Foods is a proud supporter of the USO and with our donation to the USO to support our troops, we plant the seeds of comfort, home, and unwavering support for our nation’s heroes, proving that when we nourish our troops, we strengthen the very fabric of our freedom.”
Giant also gave away 100 Panini Sticker Albums to FIFA fans, along with 100 tickets to Giant’s barbecue battle, creating more opportunities for fans to celebrate the excitement happening in their backyard.
