Publix Super Markets opened a new store in Bradenton, Florida, today, marking the grocer’s 13th location in the Bradenton area.
The 55,701-square-foot store anchors the Northchase Center at 16642 State Road 64 East and celebrated its grand opening at 7 a.m. The location features the Lakeland-based grocer’s redesigned store format, which includes wider aisles, additional self-checkout lanes and expanded deli, bakery, meat and seafood departments.
The store includes floral, produce, deli, bakery, meat and cheese, and seafood departments, along with a drive-thru pharmacy and an adjacent Publix Liquors. Shoppers visiting during the grand opening received a special-edition reusable bag while supplies lasted.

Continued Florida Expansion
The Bradenton opening is part of a broader expansion push for Publix, which has opened or reopened dozens of stores across the Southeast in 2025 and 2026, many in Florida in response to the state’s population growth. The grocer has five new stores opening between June 11 and early July, including four in Florida and one in Northern Kentucky.
Upcoming openings include locations in Cold Spring, Kentucky (June 17); Winter Haven, Florida (June 18); Davenport, Florida (June 25); and Fernandina Beach, Florida (July 2).
Publix is the largest employee-owned company in the U.S. with more than 260,000 associates and operates more than 1,400 stores across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky.
