The 2026 Sweets & Snacks Expo is shaping up to be a landmark event as the candy and snack industry gathers for the first time in Las Vegas, with attendance trending toward an all-time high, according to show organizer National Confectioners Association (NCA).
The expo runs May 19-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. More than 1,000 candy and snack exhibitors and 200 Supplier Showcase exhibitors will fill the floor, representing thousands of brands and more than 90 countries. The event also features 38 education sessions and a record-breaking number of product submissions for the Most Innovative New Product Awards (MINPA).
For independent grocers
For independent grocers, the show offers a critical opportunity to see emerging trends firsthand. According to a trends preview published by Candy & Snack TODAY ahead of the expo, three key themes are shaping new product development:
- Newstalgia Reshaping the Classics: Iconic treats are returning with modern twists, blending familiarity with fresh formats, flavors, and experiences designed for today’s consumers.
- More in Every Bite: Consumers want more from their treats, and brands are delivering with daring combinations of flavors, textures, and formats, turning every bite into a discovery.
- Made for the Moment: From seasonal celebrations to everyday enjoyment, limited-time flavors, standout packaging, and themed products are creating consumer urgency and elevating every occasion.
At the expo, Most Innovative New Product Awards will recognize standout products in 12 categories, many reflecting these trends. New this year, the Trailblazer and Powerhouse awards will honor category disruptors and sales drivers in both candy and snack categories, Candy & Snack TODAY reported.
