Dollar General celebrated the grand opening of its Aurora, Colorado, distribution center Nov. 9 with employees, families, company leadership and elected officials. The company also marked the occasion with $10,000 donations to Aurora Public Schools and the Food Bank of the Rockies.

“The Aurora facility will not only create positive economic impact through new jobs and long-term career opportunities for employees, it will also further support our ability to better serve our stores and customers throughout the western United States. We appreciate the constructive partnerships with state and local officials, including Gov. Jared Polis, and we look forward to a longstanding presence in the state.”

At full capacity, the one million-square-foot facility is expected to create about 400 new jobs and also support the company’s growing DG Private Fleet presence.

“Colorado is a great state to launch and grow a business, and I look forward to seeing the impact this new distribution center will have on the community and Colorado families,” Polis said.

Dollar General opened its first store in Colorado in 2006 and employs more than 950 people through its distribution center and stores. The company plans to celebrate the grand opening of its North Little Rock, Arkansas, facility in 2025.
