Marrazzo’s Market in Ewing Township, New Jersey, is beginning a new chapter under Shap Markets ownership, with lower prices, operational improvements and Associated Supermarket Group as its new supplier.
A neighborhood staple for more than two decades at 1400 Parkway Ave., Marrazzo’s is responding to customer feedback with improvements to pricing, product availability, freshness and service. With ASG’s support, “the store is strengthening sourcing and selection to deliver better everyday value and earn customer confidence,” the Oct. 15 press release from ASG noted.
“We’re listening to our customers and making changes they can see on our shelves and at checkout,” said Adam Shapiro, owner of Shap Markets. “Marrazzo’s has deep roots in Ewing, and we’re committed to delivering the quality, value and service this community deserves.”
On its website, Shap Markets describes Marrazzo’s as a family-owned neighborhood market focused on quality, freshness and curated products in every department.
The store marked the transition with a Fall Fest and Car Show in its parking lot Oct. 17, featuring food, prizes and games, with gift bags for the first 200 shoppers.
ASG provides retail solutions to independently owned grocery stores throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, including distribution, marketing, merchandising, promotional services and store financing, giving independents access to the scale and resources of larger chains. Its banners include Associated, Associated Fresh, Compare, Compare Fresh, Met Foods, Met Fresh and Pioneer, along with the Avenue A private label.
