Krasdale Foods, the family-owned grocery distribution, merchandising and marketing company, has been named to the 2027 Best Places to Work in Westchester list for the second consecutive year, one of 12 companies recognized.

“We owe our legacy to the men and women who come to work every day in support of our independent store owners and the communities they serve,” said Gus Lebiak, Krasdale president and COO. “For 118 years, Krasdale has committed to treating our employees like family, and this recognition is proof that we continue to live by the principles that have sustained us for over a century.”

Improvement in several marks

Employees gave the company high marks in categories including “I like what I do for the organization,” “this organization’s culture allows me to do my best work” and “I believe in the organization’s leadership,” with Krasdale improving on last year’s results in multiple categories, including its overall rating.

“If you want to understand a company’s culture, you have to ask the people who work there,” said Bill Ross, Krasdale VP of HR, people and organizational development. “Since joining Krasdale, I have seen firsthand what inspires such loyalty; many employees have devoted three or four decades of service to the company.”

Rankings were determined by the Best Companies group through a two-part evaluation: workplace policies, practices and demographics (25 percent) and an employee survey measuring the employee experience (75 percent). The ranked list appears in the November/December 2026 issue of 914INC.

Founded in 1908 and based in White Plains, New York, Krasdale supports more than 3,500 independent grocery stores in eight states, including the New York metropolitan area and Florida, under banners including C-Town, Bravo, Aim, Market Fresh, Shop Smart Food Markets and Stop 1 Food Mart.
