Silver Sands Pizza, a Milford, Connecticut, pizzeria, is bringing its New Haven-style apizza to grocery freezers, with its line now available at select Big Y and Adams Hometown Market locations as the company expands its retail partnerships.
The line features the restaurant’s recipe – flash-frozen – in three varieties: Mozzarella, Margherita and Tomato Basil. The expansion leans into Connecticut’s pizza identity, which the state’s tourism campaign has promoted in billing itself as the pizza capital of the U.S.
“Connecticut has a special place in the pizza world, and we’re proud to be part of that tradition,” said Osman Tunali, owner of Silver Sands Pizza. “Our frozen apizza gives even more people the opportunity to enjoy our pizza at home, and we’re excited to expand its availability through new retail partnerships and bring it to more communities throughout New England.”
In addition to the grocery locations, the frozen pies are available at the company’s restaurants in Milford and Wallingford, the Orange Farmers Market and Edge of the Woods Market in New Haven.
Silver Sands is looking to grow its retail presence throughout New England, with a longer-term goal of reaching markets nationwide, and welcomes inquiries from grocery chains, independent markets and other retailers.
Founded by Tunali in 2011, Silver Sands operates two Connecticut restaurant locations serving New Haven-style pizza, Italian favorites and catering, along with a fleet of custom wood-fired pizza trucks serving events throughout New England.
