Walmart has made Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus available together for $120 a year, almost $100 less than members were previously paying for the two memberships separately. The combined offering launched Oct. 20.
“We’re giving people a reason to expect more from their memberships,” said John Furner, president and CEO of Walmart Inc. “For $120 a year, we’re raising expectations for what a membership can deliver: more money in their pockets and more time to call their own.”
For the equivalent of $10 a month, members get Sam’s Club access with member-only pricing, free delivery from both Walmart and Sam’s Club, their choice of Peacock or Paramount+, gas savings of 10 cents per gallon at more than 17,000 participating stations and 2 percent Sam’s Cash on eligible purchases.
The company framed the bundle against what consumers may pay separately today: $139 for a retail membership with delivery, $130 for a warehouse club and $129.99 for a standalone streaming service, nearly $400 a year combined.
Existing members have several paths into the combined offering:
- Walmart+ annual members can switch to Walmart+ with Sam’s Club Plus for $22 more per year.
- Sam’s Club members can upgrade to Sam’s Club Plus for $60 more per year with Walmart+ included.
- Sam’s Club Plus members can activate Walmart+ at no additional cost.
- Members already paying for both can link their accounts, with most eligible for a prorated Walmart+ refund.
U.S. field associates at Walmart and Sam’s Club will receive both memberships as part of their benefits. The company said costs related to the membership change are not expected to materially impact its fiscal Q3 or full-year guidance.
Members can join, upgrade or link accounts in the Walmart or Sam’s Club apps or at walmart.com/plus/samsclub.
